I had a chance to go to San Francisco two weeks ago and I brought back an iPhone. I think it was a clever move, especially since US and Canadian currency are pretty much the same. It cost me less than the price of the 16 GB version of iPod Touch in Canada.

Tomorrow, the iPhone launches. Last Monday at 5 A.M., a first person started waiting in line at the Apple Store on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. The lines been growing ever since and one of those people has been blogging about it while waiting. The Nokia N95, part of Nokia’s Nseries, is the company’s way to say that the future is clearly in mobility. This little quad-band device has everything and it’s neither at cell phone quality or smartphone quality, but it’s at computer quality. It features everything: music player, video player, camera for photos (5 megapixels) and videos (VGA 640×480 at 30 fps) with a Carl Zeiss lens, editing for photos and videos, GPS, FM Radio, expandable memory, stereo speakers, bluetooth, wifi and infrared connectivity, and possibility to add third-party softwares. Everything in bold is what wouldn’t be typically found on any other phone or smartphones.

I’m not going to comment on the iPhone per se. A whole lot of websites and blogs have already done that and I don’t believe I can do it any better than they did. All I am going to say about it is go get your own opinion by watching the iPhone introduction. It’s awesome.

I received the Nokia 6682 as part of a marketing programme. It’s a smartphone with a whole lot of quality features and it doesn’t forget that its primary function is a phone.

As a phone
The Nokia 6682 does everything a phone should do. The phone ring and the speaker are loud enough that you don’t need to listen intently. The keys are small, but there is an angle to them so it’s easy to type something without mistyping.

The volume of the phone is incredible. I was at the Under Pressure event not so long ago and I was about 10 meters away from the big loud speakers when somebody called me. While talking and listening, it occurred to me that the sound was crystal clear even with the loud noise around me.
