How to use multiple Gmail signature

Using different signatures is becoming important for me. As a Gmail user, I can't have more than one signature… Or that's what I thought, until I found this article that suggests using canned responses to preset your signatures. It's a great trick and works like a charm. All you have to do is go in the labs and enable it, then compose the message that will become your signature and save it. Repeat composing/saving until you've created enough signatures.

This will work all the time, on all browsers, so you no longer have to worry about scripts, Greasemonkey and Firefox Add-ons.

Long,
Thanks for the post, I actually saw the original and left Zee a comment also. Wondering if you can help me with an issue I’m having with this workaround…

For some reason, when I hit insert Canned Response, it inserts it before all of the text that I have written. So what I’ve been doing is inserting the “signature” first, then begin my message. Otherwise I have to move the signature by copy/paste after my message, if I write the message before inserting the “signature.”

Any ideas?

Thanks

Quite simply, your canned response is inserted wherever your cursor happens to be. I just tested this by putting my cursor in the middle of a sentence in a quoted reply and my canned response got inserted there.

I haven’t checked if it behaves the same way in all browsers; I just tested in Safari 3.

Very useful since we also have a corporate account with gmail so several people use it. Thank you very much
