Fancy Signature in Gmail
I was looking for a way to make my email signature stand out from the mass number of emails people receive everyday. The problem was that Gmail wouldn’t allow anything but plain text signatures. The one I wanted would have to make anyone recognize it was mine even if they were peeping on a computer screen from across an office. In the end, I opted for a much simpler signature than I originally intended.

The screenshot shows the signature I am using now. In the beginning, it was more elaborate, but I chose to make it more plain and simple while still standing out, because the original was too fancy. Too fancy means annoying. Perhaps not for somebody who sees the signature for the first time, but certainly annoying for somebody with whom I exchange a lot of emails. And it would also have become annoying for myself for always seeing such a predominant element in every message.
To create such a signature in Gmail, you will need a bit of knowledge in creating webpages whether using a WYSIWYG software or just plain HTML. You will also need Firefox and the add-on called Blank Canvas Gmail Signatures.
Every account you have in Gmail can hold up to four signatures. Every time you compose an email, you will have options to create, edit and change signatures. The add-on is very intuitive and the button labels are self-explanatory. If you want to customize the way you sign emails with a little fanciness, I recommend this Firefox extension.
