Sex and Walking
Was it in April or May 2008 that the weather in Montreal became very comfortable? Whenever it was, it was when I started taking walks, either before of after work. Sometimes, I skip the bus, metro, car, or bike, and walk the whole 10 kilometers home. It makes up for a nice long 2-hour walk, at the end of which my feet are almost dead.
Some people read, some people write, some people play games, and some people watch television. I walk.
For about 7 weeks, I have been taking walks at least once a week. People tell me it’s very healthy. Health benefits has never been on my mind and most people who tell me that hardly ever walk, except maybe to go to the bus stop or maybe the metro station or wherever their car is parked. Then, they tell me that’s walking. In other words, they aren’t walking for the sake of walking. They are walking with the though of having to get somewhere on time.
Walking should not be tiresome, except physically. And that doesn’t even come until the very end of the act. Walking should be relaxing and peaceful. Walking is a way to clear the mind. It’s a way to think and focus or get rid of all thinking. It’s a way enjoy our surroundings.
As someone who takes walks that last anywhere between 5 minutes to 3 hours, I can tell you the best walks should be about 30 minutes long. It isn’t too short, so it allows to experience the benefits of walking for the sake of walking. And it isn’t too long, so the feet and legs shouldn’t hurt and nobody should be tired after that, unless you walk barefoot.
This act doesn’t have to be repeated everyday. It can be once every 2-3 days. Or even once a week.
Walking and sex are not the same and not comparable, except for the part where they should both make your worries go away. I would suggest you take a walk with someone and have sex with them after or before. Or both.
