New Design, New Beginnings
The thought of getting a new design has been invading my brain for a few weeks. The first time I made a website, all I did was web design, and then came some other areas of design. Somewhere along the way, I decided to create shows on the web. As I was making websites for photographers and seeking more and more of them, my interest in photography grew. I don’t want to be a professional photographer, but I do like to annoy people by capturing their worst moments.
On top of all that, I had a blog that was very poorly maintained. Look at that, the last time I wrote anything was over a month ago. That is just terrible. This reminds me of a post I wrote on Metroblogging Montreal.
I had decided to create a design that would be able to contain everything I do. I also wanted to incorporate Twitter, a service that bring me a lot of information. Sometimes, I go to Google Reader and I realize that I’ve already learnt some of the news via Twitter. It’s also useful for my personal micro-blogging. The blue bird in the header of this design, will be tweeting a lot.
This got me into designing with a grid for the first time and I must say; things make a lot of sense. The only thing that went wrong, was that in the middle of coding, I completely forgot about my contact information. There was no way to reach me, except through comments. Instead of having a contact link like I (and many others) usually do, I decided to make it appear on every single page.
Why did I choose that background? It was all too serious, I had to do something about it. Indeed, my black hair will disturb your reading. You will either make the effort to read or the effort to get out of here.
