Digital Beijing 2007
This is a very thoughtful building as it will be the control and data center for the 2008 Olympic Games. The building is almost literaly digital.
When I first read this, I thought of a building on a machine, until I realized that this will be built. Studio Pei-Zhu will bring this project to light.
They already use words such as Digital Olympics and Digital Era in their description and they talk about bar code being omnipresent and the surface resembling a circuitboard. The shape of the building itself has absolutely nothing special to it. The interest at this point is how close it will look to the 3D renderings.
Aside from being a control and data center, there will be design exhibits. Obviously, an architecture like this one must be open to the public in some way.
